Anniversaries are difficult to plan. Especially, the first one. You scour the internet to search for that special place for a romantic candlelight dinner, read up every travel blog to plan a trip before I realised, the funds weren't in my favour.
So what did we do? We headed for Ozora.
If you are based out of Kolkata, Ozora is a superb choice for a romantic date night. This new rooftop restaurant will sort your woes within a cover charge of Rs 1000 per head. When you are broke, even that hurts but trust us, it's a great deal and worth every penny.
Mounted on the 20th floor of Acropolis Mall, Kasba this new restaurant and bar lends you a breathtaking 360-degree view of the city. The ambiance stuns you, the lights dazzle you, the music gets you in the groove and the swirling air is the perfect detox for our cluttered souls. Before heading to the city's new find, we did a research on the food served. Let's be honest, the food reviews aren't that great. But the cocktails kicks your ass.

If you don't have a reservation, you have to wait for at least half an hour to get a seat. Till then, the bar is all yours. The choices are plenty so after a lot of confusion and discussions, we ordered a Classic Martini and a Mango Daiquiri. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Mango Daiquiri, rates a 20. It was perfect. The amalgamation of mango puree, rum, sugar syrup and lime juice refreshes you and the taste blows your mind.
For the Classic Martini go the James Bond route. Shaken, not stirred. You can ask for a shaken Martini but it will always be stirred. But that doesn't take away anything from the taste. Just like a tailored suit, a Martini always needs to be perfect. And it was. The gin had a herb flavour to it and the vermouth had it's back.
With the drinks and seating sorted, we pumped up the mood with a pan flavoured hookah. You won't trust me but it gives me a solid high. Since the food reviews weren't too impressive, we dove into the desserts. And nothing beats the sugar rush of savouring a gorgeous slice of Hazelnut mousse flan. Officially, it's the best mousse I have ever had. I am not a chocolate fan but I swear, I craved for more.
Not only for a date night, Ozora is a perfect place to hang out with your buddies. It doesn't cramp you for space, serves killer cocktails and offers the best view of the city. So, what are you waiting for?
